The #KEO1 rib is the basic rib for every potter. With its 3 sides, it is excellent for creating classic cylindrical pieces.

Shape: Classic Cylinder
Side A is a straight rib you can use to make and strengthen the perfect cylinder shape. This is often the ideal shape to start a piece with, before you go on to shape your piece into the end design. By first shaping the perfect cylinder with even wall thickness, it is much easier to do the final shaping using the B side (or even another rib!).

To achieve a set diameter, use either the built-in ruler to measure the diameter or use the middle marking at the bottom (Just align the middle mark with a making on your wheel-head or on your bat system).

Then simply pull the wall on your piece outward toward the rib to obtain the chosen diameter.

Notches make height consistency easily achievable
To create pieces of a set height, use the notches in the ruler to fix your needle tool. Then use the needle tool to cut off any excess clay you might have,

Prevent cracking with the rib
You can use the top side of the rib to compress the bottoms of your pots to strengthen the base and to prevent cracking during the drying or firing process.
